a mini snow adventure

This past June I was invited to celebrate my Grandfathers 90th Birthday and was also attending my 20 year High School Reunion in my Hometown of Young. Both party's were exactly one week apart over the school holidays and were in NSW (we live in QLD) so we decided to make it a road trip adventure visiting lots of places and family and the SNOW on our travels. It was to be only my second time at the snow, I went once when I was a teenager and the very first time for my husband and children. We were a little nervous of how cold it would be as we're spoiled with lovely warm weather living in Brisbane; well it was collllld but we loved it and had an absolute ball. We only had two days there and visited both Perisher and Thredbo, both beautiful but we would really love to go back to Thredbo another time; that was our pick of the two. Here are some pictures of our fun in the snow.
On our way to Jindabyne from Canberra.

Long, lonnng roads and paddocks and thinking that we will never see snow.

Driving through Cooma and towns along the way, we see snowman signs but no sight of actual snow, we must be getting close though. :-) The temperature gauge in the car was dropping a degree every few kilometers.

We made it!! Perisher -5 degrees..brrrrr

Daddy and his boys.

The boys couldn't wait to have snowball fights and this wall was perfect to hide behind whist they played with Dad.

Little Rhys (3) was hilarious, he just went flying down the hills on his tummy...that boys has no fear!!

Oh it was collllllllddddddd........

Little Rhys feeling warm and content again. Cutie xx

Day 2 and we hired some toboggans.
This was a crazy day, snowing very heavily. 35cm of snow overnight and still snowing.

The snow and cold was all too much for Rhys and he cried a lot.

GO ZACCI!!!

Snow angel time.

My first ever snowman. :-)

Thredbo, fantastic for families and smaller children.

high tea | baby shower

One of my best girlfriends Chelsea was expecting her fourth baby and asked Kerryn (our other bestie) and I to help her decorate her baby shower. Chelsea has impeccable taste and wanted a Vintage High Tea party. I went over to her home a week or two before and her and I nutted out plans of how we wanted it all set up. We wanted to set it up in gorgeous backyard and make it like a garden party. Her husband Brian was great with helping us and set up wires throughout the backyard for some of the decorations and also moving some furniture from inside out.
Among Chelsea's many talents, she is a FABULOUS cook, she planned and made some amazing mini treats and bakes to complete her High Tea {whilst pregnant, whilst working and whilst running her 3 boys to school and sport and training}, I don't know how she does it!
It was a beautiful day for a beautiful girl.

Chelsea polished up her Silver for the day, everything was so pretty.

The BEAUTIFUL expectant Mum. Hard to believe it will be her fourth child.

Pregnant and Fabulous, yes that was Chelsea.

Her ruffle cake was divine.

Kerryn did a wonderful job of the baby shower games.

Perfect baby Harry Adam was born just weeks later.

Chelsea and Brian are now the proud parents of 4 gorgeous boys. Congratulations and well done, you are a beautiful family. xxx

Lego Party

During the last school holidays I had my weekly Pole Fitness class on and needed somewhere for my boys to go whilst I was in class, they would be too bored to sit there for an hour and watch me. My Pole instructor told me about a place called Bricks n Fun where you can book your children in to build Lego and you can leave them there to be looked after...perfect! Well, my boys LOVED it! I've never seen them so quiet and happy, totally concentrating on what they were building.

When I went to pick them up I inquired about birthday party's there. They did them for up to groups of 12. As my middle boys Zac was coming up to his 7th birthday I decided to book a party there. I have given my boys a birthday every year on their special day and they are always held at home, this was to be my first one not there.

It was fabulous and so easy for me. All I had to do was pack a few things into the car, and head there. The entire place is booked out for your party. They have two hosts that help the kids with their Lego building and they also provide a few party games such as "pass the parcel" Then at the end we did the cake and had a few snacks and the parents come to pick up the children and we were done. No mess or clean up for me and one VERY happy birthday boy! :-)
